Two eyewitness complaints. One question:
did the Irish state review the evidence before closing the cases?
1. Esat Digifone — Alleged $2.5B Telecom Licence Bribery
In October 2025, I provided CAB with my eyewitness account and identified supporting audio recordings, emails, documents and evidence exhibits concerning alleged bribery surrounding the Esat Digifone licence.
CAB interviewed me for approximately four hours. I later notified the DPP directly that my eyewitness testimony and supporting evidence existed and that I remained available to cooperate.
In March 2026, the DPP directed no prosecution.

2. Maureen O'Brien Fatal Collision — 2012–2015 Garda Investigation
I also provided evidence concerning the fatal collision that killed my mother, Maureen O'Brien.
My eyewitness account states that I saw Michael Smurfit's overloaded vehicle travelling on the incorrect side of the road at approximately twice the applicable speed limit immediately before the fatal collision.
My complaint is supported by independent forensic crash-analysis evidence which I contend corroborates key aspects of my eyewitness account.
During the 2012–2015 Garda reinvestigation, I contend that I was never formally interviewed as the principal surviving eyewitness and that important eyewitness and forensic evidence was omitted or inadequately considered.
